Golden Gate Bridge
San Francisco, CA

Once called "the bridge that couldn't be built," today the Golden Gate Bridge is one the seven wonders of the modern world and one of the most photographed structures on the globe. This magnificent span, perhaps San Francisco's most famous landmark, opened in 1937 after a four-year struggle against relentless winds, fog, rock and treacherous tides. You can drive, walk, wheelchair or bike across the bridge, and enjoy panoramic views of San Francisco, the San Francisco Bay, Marin Headlands and the Pacific Ocean. Be sure to visit the North and/or South side vista points to create that perfect Instagram shot.

No experience is more uniquely San Francisco than riding a historic cable car. Named a national landmark in 1964, cable cars (not to be confused with street cars) are manually propelled by cables embedded in the street. Drivers have become icons themselves, often regaling riders with big personalities and tunes played on the cable car bells. You can one of three lines, and board at the cable car turntables (the beginning or end of each route) or look for the brown-and-white cable car sign post along the routes. Tickets ($7) must be purchased either in advance (if boarding at the turntable) or with exact change on board. Unlimited daily ride passports are also available. PLEASE NOTE: Due to Covid-19 restrictions, cable cars are not currently running. Please check the website for the most recent updates.

A gift to the city from Lillie Hitchock Coit, it pays homage to the city's volunteer firefighters and has become an emblem of the San Francisco skyline. Its observation deck, reached by elevator (tickets can be purchased in the gift shop), provides 360-degree views of the city and bay, including the Golden Gate and Bay bridges. Public transportation is recommended if you want to see Coit Tower (or you can challenge yourself with a hike up the hill.) From the downtown area, you can take either the #30 or #45 line to Washington Square, located at the corners of Union & Columbus and transfer to the #39 Coit Tower bus. Hayes St
San Francisco, CA

Most widely known for their starring role on TV in "Full House" and "Fuller House," the beautiful ladies on postcard row are one of San Francisco's most photographed attractions. A row of Victorian houses each painted in 3 or more vibrant colors that highlight their architecture, the homes are located across from Alamo Square in the heart of the city. To view the ladies, take Muni line #21 westbound from downtown to the corner of Hayes and Steiner streets, or view them from one of many city tours that visit the area. Insider tip for your best Insta shot: visit during sunset when the golden glow from the west makes the colors most vibrant.
